This is a wonderful book of hymns for the guitar! Although I can mostly sight read the hymns, I find that I go back to this book many times just for the fun of playing some of my favorites. Be aware that these are, for the most part, straight-forward arrangements of the hymns, i.e., there isn't a lot of added flair, riffs, solos, etc. I find the arrangements quite pleasing and I am thrilled with this book.Just as an FYI, I own both Vol 1 and 2 of this series. I use both of them and I recommend both of them, however I use Volume 2 much more than Volume 1. It could be my personal preference of hymns, but if I was forced to choose just one, I would choose Volume 2.

I'm not so sure yet. I need more time to decide.
Our whole family plays guitar and these are great arrangements of some nice hymns. We have players that range from intermediate to advanced and they all enjoy playing these songs. My son is now using this book while serving a mission for his church.
My dad couldn't be happier. He's an experienced player but he said the way the music is written out even a beginner would love these books.
I am a novice, but am finding this book very helpful. I like being able to tackle a hymn without the need of a teacher.
Great book, got this one and volume 1 and couldn't be happier. Great place to start to learn some hymns on the guitar.
I also purchased Volume One and love it. I've been looking for solo classical guitar hymns to play at church that aren't too easy or aren't too difficult. I found the book! I'd like to purchase CD's for the books if they are available, too.
